Life Story for Charles McKinnon

MY TIME IN LIFE...

Charles Edward McKinnon, was born on April 1, 1947 in Cumberland County, North Carolina to the late John David McKinnon, Sr., and Carrie Lee Baker-McKinnon. He departed this life Monday, January 13, 2014. His years of education was attained in the Cumberland County School System.

Charles was reared by God fearing parents who left a spiritual foundation and legacy in the hearts of so many. God gave him many spiritual gifts that he used on his earthly journey to bless others. His years of employment included working many years at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center with Dr. Pennink and other co-workers that still hold his memory close to heart. Many life long friends were made at the hospital. Because of his love for people, his patience , and his love for his job many patients were also blessed. We can truly say our beloved had a heart for people. Not only did he have a heart for people he had a gift of using his hands to beautify many homes, buildings, and schools. He and his friend Harold Lee took laying tiles to another level. They were given many contracts because of the pride they exemplified in their labors. "Every good and perfect gift comes from God." We believe that Charles was grateful to God for the gifts entrusted to him. As we look back over his life, in the hearts of each of us are precious memories that will forever be treasured.

Our beloved, touched our lives with his jovial spirit and tender heart. We will forever be grateful to God for allowing him to be in our mist. He will be missed in the hearts of many.

Charles was preceded in death by his siblings John David McKinnon Jr., Willie Van McKinnon, Carrie Lee McKinnon-Smith and JoAnn McKinnon-Fitzgerald.

He leaves to cherish his memories a loving and devoted brother, Walter Lee McKinnon; nephews, Willie J. Smith and Byford Fitzgerald; nieces, Deborah Brown Wesley, Angela Tyson and Keisha McKinnon; and a host of great nieces & nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.

MAY HIS TIME IN LIFE... ... .
forever be cherished by family and friends.
