Life Story

James Clint Singletary

~ Obituary ~

“I have fought a good fight. I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. Henceforth, there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day; and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.” ~ II Timothy 4:7-8

James Clint Singletary, the oldest child of the late James Clifford and Marcella Lewis Singletary moved from his earthly labor to eternal rest on Sunday July 26, at Southeastern Hospice House in Lumberton, North Carolina.

Clint joined Round Branch Baptist Church as a teenager and remained a member until his death.

Clint was a special person in so many ways, a dedicated husband, loving and caring father, grandfather, brother, and faithful friend to all that knew him.  He graduated from Spaulding-Monroe High School.  He served in the United States Army. While in the army, he toured Vietnam and Germany with the 101st Airborne Division. He was honorably discharged with the rank of E6 Staff Sergeant in 1972. Upon leaving the military, he began his career in the Trucking Industry with Smith Transport as a truck driver. Clint’s love for driving inspired him to purchase his own truck in which he became an owner/operator. He was a member of the Mack Million Mile Club.  For his driving, he received the Million Mile Award, which is equivalent to forty times around the world.
